Abstract

Objective: Today, the modern lifestyle leads people to feel stressed to fulfill all the needs of the social lifestyle. Therefore, stress-related diseases are becoming one of the major health problems of humans, which are mostly suffered from all over the world. The purpose of the article is to examine the principles of designing healing gardens in hospitals to reduce stress and improve the health of patients.
Methods: The research method is descriptive-analytical based on library studies and interviews with groups in Tabriz Children's Hospital. Analyzes were conducted through theoretical studies along with the level of user satisfaction and their opinion about the design elements that should be considered in the design of healing gardens.
Results: The results showed that the relationship between human health and access to nature leads to reduction of stress, reduction of mental fatigue, promotion of human health and well-being. Especially, the presence of healing gardens in hospitals has a significant effect on reducing stress and improving the mental health of patients.
Conclusion: Architects and designers should focus on integrating all the key elements of the healing garden and the desire of the users to create a peaceful environment that reduces stress and promotes the health of patients.
